Design Inspiration

Explore the design elements inspired for the Project

Distinguished colleagues, we present to you the architectural vision for the Marriott Hotel, a design conceived with a profound understanding of its context within the dynamic landscape of the United Arab Emirates. Our inspiration stems from a dual narrative: one that honors the rich heritage of the region, and another that propels us towards the boundless horizons of contemporary design.

The materiality of the building, with its textured, light-colored panels, draws inspiration from the natural elements of the region – the sun-baked sands and the weathered rock formations that define the Emirati landscape. These panels not only provide a visually engaging surface but also contribute to the building's thermal performance, a crucial consideration in the region's climate. In essence, our design for the Marriott Hotel is a synthesis of heritage and horizon, a testament to the UAE's unique ability to honor its past while embracing the future. It is a space designed to inspire, to comfort, and to serve as a landmark that reflects the progressive spirit of the nation.

The building's robust geometric form, with its bold, angular facets, evokes the strength and resilience of the region's historical architecture, particularly the traditional fortresses that have stood as guardians of the land for centuries. This solidity is juxtaposed with the sleek, modern lines of the facade, reflecting the UAE's relentless pursuit of innovation and its position as a global hub for architectural advancement.

Features

Here are the unique features about this project

ALBAYAN commenced design process by reviewing the development brief from the Client team. Al Bayan developed concept design options which presented to the Client for approval. Floor plans, sections, perspectives, areas and unit mix schedules were also prepared.

All key components have been spatially planned and coordinated within primary structures. Plant spaces and primary uses and routes have been designed and will be detailed during the subsequent stages.

The current design encapsulates all the design recommendations and requests arising from the presentations and ongoing liaisons with the Client team. The general arrangement floor plans have been produced and coordinated with the main services and structural requirements.
